The kitten scruff posture
A kitten has its own instinctive response to “scruffing”: while being carried by its scruff, it stops wriggling and tucks its legs close to its body—in short, makes itself easier to carry. Nature designed a kitten to know to relax in this situation, no small marvel considering that a mom’s canine teeth are lethal weapons to anything the size of a kitten.
